Introducing Michelle

I turned the corner and there she was, looking gorgeous. I recognized the car immediately, and sent Xaver a cell phone photo. We even went over to visit one afternoon to look her over, and so we had a feel for the car and knew she needed some tender loving care.

The bid went past what I was willing to pay, but I laughed and bid on the car just once to be able to say that I had. No problem, surely the current bidder would pay the extra $2 and bid again – what could possibly go wrong?

Those next 60 seconds took forever.

And that’s how Michelle came to be my second Rolls, a 1979 Silver Shadow II, very similar to Xaver’s Silver Shadow II, and the same year as my MGB. I don’t feel the slightest bit of remorse.

Our friends at the towing company will deliver her in a few days. I’ll be placing some orders for bits and pieces this evening so that I can restore the interior. Xaver is also plotting his next move. It’s all good.

Michelle needs some TLC and that’s exactly what she’ll get! We will get her rolling again soon!
