Clemmie’s Transformation

Clemmie (a 1954 Rolls Royce Silver Dawn) is finished! Our client was having a lovely road trip when someone in a Hyundai pulled out in front of him without looking. Ouch!

After the accident, Clemmie came to our workshop for a while. Xaver restored the damaged areas. Then he went over the entire car removing faulty repairs and refining the systems of this gorgeous motorcar. She really is in much better condition than she was the day she was hit. It’s a pleasure seeing how beautifully she turned out!

Toward the end of the restoration I got to ride in her a few times. We went on a few errands in Clemmie to be certain that the car was running and stopping properly. This is one aspect of the job that I don’t mind one bit! LOL!

We are absolutely delighted that our client came and picked up his car recently. I followed in his car, and we had a lovely drive on I64 to his place in Charlottesville. Naturally, Clemmie hummed along perfectly and I could see our client driving (the car is right had drive) and Xaver in the passenger seat, and the two of them were happily chatting away the whole drive back.

Would you like to see some “before” and “after” shots? These are very satisfying!

The “before” shots are painful, aren’t they?

Here are a few of my favorite photographs so far: (And she is SUCH a photogenic car!)

The schedule is pretty full with beautiful old cars that need something – anything from a tune up to a glam up. Thankfully, there are no others with big damage like Clemmie on our list at the moment. Sometimes just sitting unused causes it’s own set of issues.

Next time you see an old darling like this on the road, be sure to wave! It could be us!

Sending love,

Carmen
